الجنيه المصري مشروع بصري بيقارن بين جنيه معدني واحد في زمنين: 2005 و2026. من خلال صور ماكرو سينمائية، بيظهر إزاي الجنيه فضل بنفس الاسم والفئة، لكن اتغيّر في الشكل وفي قدرته على الشراء. في 2005 كان الجنيه بيركّبك الأوتوبيس، ويجيبلك فطار، ويقعّدك على القهوة مع كوباية شاي وونس الناس. وفي 2026 بقى جنيه جديد ولسه لامع، لكن قيمته راحت، فتلاقيه تحت الكنبة، أو في الغسالة، أو في ركن محدش بيبص عليه. بين الزمنين 21 سنة، والمشروع بيحكيهم من غير أرقام كتير: اسكتش بيبدأ من طبلية فطار، وتاريخ الجنيه الورقي، وفرق الشكل بين جنيه 2005 ثنائي المعدن وجنيه 2026 بسبيكته المحدّثة، وبوسترات بتحكي الجنيه وهو بيتفرط ويتساب على جنب ومحدش بيحنّي ضهره عشانه. The Egyptian Pound Same pound... but the world has changed. The Egyptian Pound is a visual project comparing a single metal coin across two moments in time: 2005 and 2026. Through cinematic macro photography, it shows how the pound kept its name and denomination, yet changed in both appearance and purchasing power. In 2005, one pound could get you on a bus, buy you breakfast, or keep you company over a glass of tea at the café. In 2026, the pound is brand new and still shiny, yet its worth has slipped away. You find it under a sofa, inside a washing machine, or in a corner no one looks at. 21 years apart, the project tells the story with very few numbers: a sketch that starts at a breakfast table, the history of the paper pound, the difference between the bimetallic 2005 coin and the 2026 coin with its updated alloy, and posters that follow the pound as it breaks into change, gets set aside, and no one bends down for it
